M. Sc.(Applied) Petroleum Technology
ADMISSION for the year 2025-2026 (As per NEP)

M.Sc. (Applied) Petroleum Technology is a non-aided course of Nowrosjee Wadia College affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University. It is a 2-year full time, 4-Semester Post-graduate course.

Nowrosjee Wadia College is accredited with A+ grade by NAAC and is also recipient of the coveted ‘Best College Award’ by SPPU. Nowrosjee Wadia College was the first College, under SPPU to start this post-graduate course. Alumni of the Department are highly placed in the Oil industry in India and abroad. The Department has state of the art facilities, and excellent academic and placement track record of students.

From the academic year 2025-2026, the syllabus for M.Sc.(Petroleum Technology) structure and syllabus is designed as per NEP. It is designed taking into consideration the current Oil & Gas industry trends, at the same time consolidating core concepts.

ELIGIBILITY

Bachelor of Science (in Subject Geology/ Chemistry/Electronics/Physics/ / Mathematics/ Petroleum Chemistry/ Petrochemicals)

OR

B.Sc. General Degree with Geology as one of the Subsidiary Subjects.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

1. Students desiring to take admission to the M.Sc. (Petroleum Technology) course must appear for an online, proctored, entrance examination. However, appearing for the entrance examination does not guarantee admission.

2. The admission for this course will be strictly on the basis of the merit ofmarks obtained in the Entrance examination and as per reservation norms of the Government of Maharashtra and Savitribai Phule Pune University.

3. Admission of students who secure same marks in the Entrance examination will be decided on the basis of their CGPA in the qualifying examination.

4. The entrance exam result along with detailed Admission process will be notified tentatively by 11th June 2025 on the college website nowrosjeewadia.mespune.org

ENTRANCE EXAM FORMAT

Entrance examination will be Conducted Online & will be Proctored.

The entrance examination will consist of 100 questions of MCQ type, (1 mark each). The breakup for 100 marks will be as follows:

Section I – (Compulsory For All)

General Aptitude : 40 marks

Section II – Choose one of the following based on specialization)

1. Geology – 60 marks (for the students of Geology)

OR

2. Basics of Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Electronics:60marks(for the students of Chemistry / Physics / Electronics / Mathematics/ Petroleum Chemistry/ Petrochemicals)

ENTRANCE EXAM SCHEDULE

The online entrance examination will be held on Friday, 08th June 2025 for one hour & thirty minutes between 11.00 am to 5pm. The Exam Paper Submission time is till 5pm.
